Aircraft Precision Products, Inc. (APPI) of Ithaca, Michigan was honored today by the U.S. Department of Defense for the consistent and outstanding quality of the jet engine components it manufactures for the U.S. military.
Colonel Alvin J. Leonard, commander of the Defense Contract Management Agency, Detroit, presented APPI President William Henderson, III and APPI Quality Manager William Green a framed “Statement of Compliance” to give evidence of the quality systems at Aircraft Precision Products.
“What we produce can mean the difference of a successful or unsuccessful mission and the safety of the pilot and crew,” Henderson said. “We take that seriously and are honored to be recognized for it.”
APPI components can be found on engines powering the B-1B bomber, F-16 fighter, F-117 Nighthawk stealth fighter, A-10 Warthog, and many other military aircraft and Navy vessels.
“We’re pleased with the quality commitment APPI provides in the manufacture of precision machined forgings and castings for military applications,” Leonard said.
